ABOUT PBCDC
Who We Are
The Portland Black Community Development Consortium (PBCDC) is a community-rooted organization dedicated to advancing economic empowerment, advocacy, and strategic partnerships in Portland, Oregon.
We exist to support the long-term well-being, stability, and self-determination of Portland’s Black community through structured programs, civic engagement, and collaborative development initiatives.
Our work centers on strengthening opportunity, increasing access to resources, and building systems that allow individuals, families, and neighborhoods to thrive.
Why We Exist
Portland’s Black community has experienced generations of displacement, systemic disinvestment, and limited access to capital, land ownership, and decision-making power.
While progress has been made, structural inequities persist in housing, education, workforce access, and economic mobility.
PBCDC was formed to help shift that reality.
We believe sustainable change requires:
-
Economic infrastructure
-
Civic participation
-
Cross-sector collaboration
-
Community-led solutions
We are building a platform that moves beyond conversation and toward measurable impact.
